Cordova fisherman nets $500 fine, probation

On 6/12/13 Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Cordova Post, observed a skiff operating a set gillnet during a closed period. Investigation revealed the skiff was operated by Lyle A. Kritchen, 55, of Cordova. Kritchen appeared for arraignment on 8/1/13 in Cordova District Court and pled guilty to commercial fishing in a closed season. He was fined $3,000 with $2,500 suspended and placed on unsupervised probation for one year.
