Type: Update — commercial fish closed period
On 11/14/11 Lars R. Eide, 69, of Petersburg, entered a guilty plea in Petersburg District Court for one count of commercial salmon seining during a closed period. Eide was fined $5,000 with $3,500 suspended. The charge stemmed from Alaska Wildlife Troopers observing Eide, the permit holder and operator of the F/V Island Girl, deploying seine gear approximately five minutes before the seine opening in Tebenkof Bay on 7/31/11.
