On 2/25/12 Ben Gross, 38, of Wasilla, was cited by Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Wrangell Post, for retaining undersized commercial Tanner crab. Gross was the permit holder of the F/V Martina, and was contacted while offloading his catch in Petersburg. Arraignment set for 4/4/12 in Petersburg District Court.

Dutch Harbor report
From the local police blotter:
Protective custody, Feb. 22 — An extremely intoxicated man was found comatose in the Magone Marine galley, and was subsequently dragged into Title 47 protective custody.
Assistance rendered, Feb. 24 — Officers responded to the airport regarding a report of a drunken man causing numerous problems in the terminal. Investigation revealed that a single besotted man had roundly cursed airline employees and attempted to pick fights with no less than five people. His last victim, who told officers he was performing a community service, smacked the drunk on the head and then stood over him and told him not to be so rude. None of the victims wished to pursue charges, as they all felt justice had already been served.
Welfare check, Feb. 25, 2323 hours — Vessel captain rescued an inebriate who had fallen into the water near the Spit Dock. Both men were out of the water quickly and did not need medical assistance.

On 2/18/12 Wildlife Troopers cited Nikolai Reutov, 43, of Homer, for failing to register for the 2012 groundfish fishery prior to participating in the fishery for the Cook Inlet area. Reutov had operated the F/V Pioneer in Cook Inlet waters without notifying the Alaska Department of Fish and Game prior to fishing. Reutov was issued a summons to appear on 3/20/12 in Seward District Court.

Welfare check, Feb. 12 — An officer responding to a report of an inebriate passed out in the airport found an exhausted but not intoxicated man who said he had been working very long hours for the past two weeks. A friend arrived to take the tuckered fellow back to his vessel for the night.
Ambulance request, Feb. 14 — EMS volunteers provided care for individual who had four fingers amputated while out fishing.
Ambulance request, Feb. 15 — EMS volunteers provided medical care to an individual who had received steam burns while offloading a container ship.
Drug law violation, Feb. 15 — Information regarding crack cocaine distribution in Unalaska received.
Ambulance request, Feb. 16 — EMS volunteers transported patient from docking vessel to clinic.
Drug law violation, Feb. 16 — Local seafood processing plant
reported that an employee is receiving suspicious packages in the mail. Officers discovered illicit substances inside one of these packages. Currently under investigation.
Ambulance request, Feb. 17, 0209 hours — EMS volunteers responded to a heavily sedated patient who had been acting in a bizarre manner while on a processing vessel.
Assistance rendered, Feb. 17, 0217 hours — Officers assisted with possibly combative patient.
Animal, Feb. 17 — Cat turned over to public safety for adoption. Immediately adopted by individual who had wanted a cat for weeks.
Traffic, Feb. 18 — Rotund rock reported relaxing in road.
Domestic disturbance, Feb. 18 — Raging roommate attempted roundhouse punch. Abdirahman A. Warasme, 43, of Tukwila, Wash., was charged with assault. He claimed his roommates were just too religious and angry at him for being drunk.
