Unlawful setnet charged in Prince William Sound

Location: Port Chalmers-Montague Island
Type: Illegal commercial fishing activity
On 6-14-09 Michael Durtschi, 54 yoa, of Girdwood, was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Valdez Post. Durtschi was issued a citation for operating a commercial salmon drift gillnet that was anchored to the beach in Port Chalmers. Arraignment is scheduled on 6/24/09, District Court of Cordova.
