Three Cook Inlet fishermen charged

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Soldotna
Type: Commercial fish closed waters
On 10/10/13 the Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Soldotna issued a summons to Ivan Lisov, 25, of Homer. Lisov was charged with fishing a drift gillnet on 7/6/13 in waters closed at the time to commercial fishing. He is to appear on 10/29/13 in Homer District Court.

On 10/10/13 the Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Soldotna issued a summons to Cristy J. Somers, 52, of Homer. Somers was charged with fishing a drift gillnet on 7/13/13 in waters closed at the time to commercial fishing. She is to appear on 10/29/13 in Homer District Court.

Type: Commercial fish closed waters
On 10/12/13 the Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Soldotna issued a summons to Jonah N. Yakunin, 23, of Nikolaevsk. Yakunin was charged with commercial fishing in closed waters from an incident which occurred on 7/6/13. He is to appear on 11/8/13 in Kenai District Court.

  1. I hate seeing F&G waiting months to give someone a ticket. Even if you're innocent, how do you defend yourself. It's hard to remember where you were and what you were doing at a specific time, especially two or three months later. You have a right to a speedy trial, you should also have a right to a speedy ticket so th incident is fresh in your mind.
