Type: Commercial seine closed waters
On 7/24/13 Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Sitka Post, received a report from the Sitka office of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game that they had just observed the F/V Coral setting in the closed waters of Nakwasina Sound. Troopers contacted the vessel and an investigation revealed the captain, Izaak Esquiro, 37, of Warm Springs, Ore., had fished the closed waters of Nakwasina Sound. Esquiro was issued a summons to appear in Sitka District Court, and his catch of 13,660 pounds of salmon was seized.

Got off so easy the first time he tried again. That is our court system.

ReplyDeleteuse to be the vessel could be seized on the first offense. Second time in one season it should be.
