Two Metlakatla salmon gillnetters charged

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Nichols Passage, Ketchikan
Type: Multiple violations
On 9/28/12 Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Ketchikan Post, charged Richard Burton, 60, of Metlakatla, with commercial drift gillnetting for salmon in closed waters on the F/V Miss Kris. He also was charged with unlawful possession and lack of a Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission permit. Burton was observed fishing on 9/18/12 in Nichols Passage of District 1F. Burton has a mandatory court appearance in Ketchikan District Court.

He also was charged with unlawful possession and lack of a Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission permit. Hayward was observed fishing on 9/18/12 in Nichols Passage of District 1F. Hayward has a mandatory court appearance in Ketchikan District Court.
