Two more Cook Inlet gillnetters charged

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Soldotna
Type: Commercial fish closed period
On 9/25/12 the Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Soldotna charged Steven W. Beling, 45, of Seldovia, with commercial fishing with a drift gillnet in closed waters in Upper Cook Inlet. He was issued a summons to appear on 10/23/12 in Homer District Court.

Type: Commercial fish closed period
On 9/25/12 the Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Soldotna charged Paisy Reutov, 37, of Willow, with commercial fishing with a drift gillnet in closed waters in Upper Cook Inlet. He was issued a summons to appear on 10/19/12 in Kenai District Court.

  1. And here we go! Yet two more UCIDA fishers with no regard for the rules. It is stunning to see how many cook inlet drifters have been cited this season. And when you consider that the set net group had to sit on the beach while the drifters had unobstructed fishing it is mind boggling to see such unadulterated greed.
