Dutch Harbor report

From the local police blotter:

Assault, May 6 — A man who apparently found it difficult to follow directions returned to the Harbor View bar after having been advised he would be arrested if he did so, and proceeded to punch one of the doormen, breaking his glasses and injuring his face. Christopher J. Hadsell, 23, of Washington, was arrested for assault, criminal mischief and criminal trespass.

Assistance rendered, May 6 — Officers mediated a dispute between two men on a fishing vessel, one of whom claimed to have paid for the privilege of staying on the vessel and the other of whom stated he no longer wanted the first man onboard.

Suspicious activity, May 7 — Beachcomber found a section of spinal column. Officers contacted a local marine biologist who was able to identify the bones as belonging to a sea lion.

Public safety, May 9 — The season's first victim was attacked by a bald eagle across from the Iliuliuk Family & Health Services clinic. No injuries were reported.

Lost property, May 9 — A wallet, with various cards and a small quantity of cash, at either the Harbor View bar or Alyeska Seafoods.

Animal, May 10 — Caller reported a dog barking, and predicted that other dogs would soon join the canine chorus.

Welfare check, May 11, 0113 hours — A woman asked officers to check on her sister, who was allegedly suicidal after having misplaced approximately $12,000 in cash. Officers found the sister asleep in her bed. The intoxicated sister assured officers she would not harm herself unless she failed to find her money, in which event she might change her mind.

Trespass, May 11 — Officer issued a trespass advisement, per UniSea security, to a man who had recently assaulted a UniSea employee.
