On 4/27/12 Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Sitka Post, contacted
Richard L. Summers, 56, of Craig, after he landed a lingcod as bycatch in the
commercial salmon troll fishery. Lingcod retention is only open May 16 to Nov.
30, and Sitka Sound is closed to the retention of lingcod on commercial troll
gear. Summers was cited with arraignment set in Sitka District Court. The
proceeds from the illegally taken lingcod were forfeited to the state.
