Type: Crabbing closed season
On 1/31/11 Sitka Wildlife Troopers located and seized three commercial Dungeness crab pots still fishing in Chaik Bay near Chatham Strait. Commercial Dungeness crab season closed on 10/30/10. Alaska Department of Fish and Game records revealed that the pots belonged to Peter Roddy, 58, of Sitka. On 2/3/11 Roddy was contacted in Sitka and issued a summons for commercial Dungeness fishing during a closed season. Roddy was given a mandatory court date of 2/15/11.
