Dutch Harbor report

From the local police blotter:

Suspicious activity, May 4 — Caller reported gunshots coming from Hog Island. The responding officer also heard similar sounds, and saw several people on the island, but was unable to make contact with them.

Animal, May 5 — Security reported that an eagle was perched in the processing plant break room. Alaska State Troopers were notified of the trespass.

Fire response, May 7, 0517 hours — Fire personnel responded to a warehouse on East Point Loop after a caller reported seeing smoke and sparks from the building.

Assistance rendered, May 7, 0518 hours — Police assisted with evacuating people from and providing traffic control in the area around a warehouse fire.

Ambulance request, May 7, 0519 hours — EMS personnel responded to a fire scene.

Environmental, May 7, 1024 hours — The Department of Environmental Conservation was notified that significant amounts of foam from firefighting efforts had flowed into the nearby bay.

Vehicle damage, May 7, 1440 hours — A parked vehicle was damaged by fire apparatus maneuvering at a fire scene.

Animal, May 8 — Another eagle made itself at home in a local processing facility. Alaska State Troopers were notified of the trespass.

Suspicious activity, May 9 — Caller reported an empty baby carrier parked on the corner of Airport Beach Road and Henry Swanson Drive. Neither the driver nor passenger was located.

Animal, May 9 — An itinerant eagle returned to its perch inside a seafood processing plant. Alaska State Troopers were again notified.
