Kodiak fisherman arrested on warrant

Type: Warrant arrest
On 10/5/24 Alaska Wildlife Troopers arrested Cory Dehning, 37, of Kodiak, for an arrest warrant for failure to appear for the original charge of commercial fishing in closed waters. Dehning was remanded to the Kodiak Jail with bail set at $100.

Troopers arrest geoduck harvester at Ketchikan

The Alaska Wildlife Troopers arrested Tremaine Lawrence, 34, of Washington state, on an outstanding bench warrant. Lawrence originally was charged with taking an overlimit of commercial geoducks and knowingly recording false information on a fish ticket.

Halibut fisherman arrested at Naknek

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Naknek
Type: Warrant arrest
On 6/12/21 at approximately 0946 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers based in King Salmon contacted Dan Pauk, 62, of Manokotak, during a commercial halibut delivery in Naknek. Pauk had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on the original charge of seasons and bag limits for moose issued through the Dillingham court. Pauk was arrested and remanded for the warrant with bail set at $150 cash.

Man arrested at Naknek on warrant

Type: Warrant arrest
On 5/24/21 King Salmon-based Alaska Wildlife Troopers arrested 34-year-old Christopher Mitchell, of Washington, for an outstanding warrant at the borough dock. Mitchell's original offense was commercial fish closed period. Mitchell was remanded to the Bristol Bay Borough PD jail.

Kodiak man arrested as he disembarks vessel

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Kodiak
Type: Warrant arrest
On 1/17/16 at approximately 2229 hours, Kodiak Crime Stoppers received a report that Darin Wolfe, 49, of Kodiak, was traveling to Kodiak onboard a fishing vessel. On 1/18/16 Alaska troopers and Kodiak police officers made contact with Wolfe as he disembarked from the vessel. Wolfe was arrested on two bench warrants regarding his failure to comply with conditions of adult probation. He was taken into custody without incident and remanded to the Kodiak jail on $7,500 cash bail.

Kodiak crewman arrested on warrant

On 11/13/13 Kodiak Wildlife Troopers arrested Chad D. Carlson, 33, of Kodiak, on an outstanding warrant for multiple counts of failing to appear in court and petitions to revoke probation. Carlson was a crewmember onboard the F/V Provider at the time of arrest.

Speeder arrested on commercial fishing warrant

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Homer
Type: Warrant arrest
Troopers on 10/16/13 contacted Eric Haughey, 36, of Homer, for speeding. A search in the Alaska Public Safety Information Network revealed Haughey had an active warrant for a commercial fishing violation. Troopers arrested Haughey on the warrant and transported him to the Homer jail where he was remanded on $600 bail.

Man arrested in Sitka herring fishery

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Sitka
Type: Warrant arrest
On 3/27/13, at approximately 1820 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Sitka for the herring sac roe fishery contacted Bryan Haney, 29, of Cordova, onboard the F/V Ace. Investigation revealed Haney had an outstanding warrant for his arrest stemming from a charge of commercial fishing during a closed season. Haney was arrested and transported to the Sitka Police Department jail where he was held on $500 cash bail.

Ketchikan gillnetter arrested on warrant

On 11/07/12 at 2141 hours, Thomas Widmyer, 41, of Ketchikan, was arrested on an outstanding warrant stemming from failure to appear for order to show cause with the original charge stemming from a commercial fishing incident. Widmyer was lodged at the Ketchikan Correctional Center with bail set at $100.

Wanted man arrested aboard boat at Craig

On 8/24/12 Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Klawock Post, contacted Carl Liberty Jr., 22, onboard the F/V Ida Marie at the Craig harbor. Liberty had a felony $5,000 outstanding warrant from Sitka. He was arrested, transported and remanded to the Craig jail.

Crewman jailed at Unalaska on warrant

Type: Warrant arrest
On 8/5/11 Christopher R. Laier, 39, of Libby, Mont., was arrested by Dutch Harbor Wildlife Troopers on an Unalaska warrant. The original charge was for driving while license suspended or revoked. Laier was arrested off the F/V Frontier Explorer and booked into the Unalaska jail without incident.

Arrest warrants issued for 2 Bristol Bay fishermen

Type: Update — commercial fish closed period
On 6/28/11 Nicholas N. Basargin, of Plamondon, Alberta, and Alexey E. Basargin, of Homer, both were cited for two counts of commercial fishing during a closed period in the Nushagak District. Nicholas Basargin was the skipper and Alexey Basargin was the permit holder onboard the F/V Baikal when the violations were committed. On 7/12/11 both defendants failed to appear for their arraignments in Dillingham District Court. The court issued $1,000 bench warrants for their arrest.

Petersburg crabber arrested after court no-show

Type: Warrant arrest
On 7/2/11 at 1045 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Juneau arrested James R. Seymour, 35, of Petersburg, for failing to appear for a 6/30/11 court appearance on an original charge of illegal storage of commercial crab gear. Seymour was remanded to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center with a $4,000 bail.

Dutch Harbor crewman arrested on warrant

From the Alaska State Troopers:

On 9/2/10 Dutch Harbor Wildlife Troopers cited Marco Anthony Ramirez, 32, of Chicago, for purchasing a 2010 Alaska resident commercial fishing crewmember license while not meeting the residency requirements. Investigation also revealed Ramirez had an outstanding $500 Soldotna State Troopers bench warrant. Dutch Harbor Wildlife Troopers arrested Ramirez on the warrant. Arraignment is scheduled for 9/3/10 in the Unalaska District Court.

Alaska Spirit crewman arrested at Dutch Harbor

Type: Arrest warrant
On 4/28/10 Dutch Harbor Wildlife Troopers conducted a vessel boarding on the F/T Alaska Spirit at Unalaska Harbor. Contacted onboard the vessel was crewmember William S. Brown, 48, of Everett, Wash. Brown was discovered to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest for failure to appear at arraignment for the original charge of no valid operator's license. Brown was arrested and remanded to the Unalaska City Jail on $100 cash bail.

Sitka man jailed on warrant for illegal fishing

On 4/26/10 Alaska Wildlife Troopers contacted Grant Hilton Thompson, 58, of Sitka, at a residence on Sawmill Creek Road. Thompson had an outstanding $250 warrant for commercial fishing in closed waters. Thompson was remanded to Sitka Police Department jail.

Crewman arrested at Unalaska on warrant

Type: Arrest warrant
On 2-18-10 Alaska Wildlife Troopers contacted Ngoc L. Dinh, 42, of Dutch Harbor, while conducting a vessel boarding on the F/V Western Mariner at the Pacific Fuels dock in Unalaska. Investigation revealed that Dinh had an outstanding warrant for his arrest stemming from a probation violation. Dinh was arrested, transported and remanded to the Unalaska city jail on $5,000 bail.

Plenty of trouble for the Sea Venture

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Unalaska
Type: Fish ticket
On 12/12/09 Alaska Wildlife Troopers contacted the owner of Sea Venture LLC, Daniel T. Gunn, age 58, of Seattle. Investigation revealed that Sea Venture LLC obtained and sold commercially caught fish without first filing a fish ticket with Alaska Department of Fish and Game within the seven-day time limit. Gunn was summonsed to appear in court for failure to file a fish ticket within seven days of landing and for unlawful possession of fish. Arraignment is scheduled for 1330 hours on 12/30/09 in the Unalaska Court.

On 12/12/09 Alaska Wildlife Troopers contacted the skipper and permit holder of the Sea Venture, Gerald A. Meals, age 48, of Sparks, Nev. Investigation revealed that Meals commercially fished for and landed groundfish within state waters without first obtaining the proper landing permits. Further investigation revealed that Meals then failed to provide the Alaska Department of Fish and Game with a fish ticket of his catch within the required seven-day time limit. Meals was summonsed to appear in court for permit requirements and for failure to file fish ticket within seven days of landing. Arraignment is scheduled for 1330 hours on 12/30/09 in the Unalaska Court.

On 12/12/09 Alaska Wildlife Troopers contacted Maxwell L. Jamison, age 24, of Anchorage, while conducting a boarding on the Sea Venture at the Coastal Progress Dock in Dutch Harbor. Investigation revealed that Jamison had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for failure to appear for arraignment, original charge of unsworn falsification. Jamison was arrested, transported and remanded to the Unalaska City Jail on $500 cash bail.

Crewman arrested at Dutch Harbor on warrants

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Dutch Harbor
Type: Warrant arrest
On 10-23-09, Alaska Wildlife Troopers contacted Zachar W. Nye, age 28, of Homer, while conducting a crewmember license check onboard the F/V Kona-Kai at Icicle Seafoods' floating processor plant in Dutch Harbor. Investigation revealed that Nye had two outstanding warrants for his arrest: an AST warrant for furnishing alcohol to a minor, and a Kodiak PD warrant for failure to appear on the original charge of driving while license suspended. Nye was arrested by troopers and transported to the Unalaska Jail on $1,750 bail.
