Type: Lingcod violation
On 4/14/14 Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Yakutat contacted Shawn McManus, 44, of Woodinville, Wash., after receiving a report through the Department of Fish and Game that McManus caught and retained 1,320 pounds of lingcod while longlining off the coast of Yakutat after lingcod had been closed by emergency order for that area. McManus was charged with retaining lingcod during a closed season, and must appear in Yakutat District Court.

Troopers say Sitka halibut longliner lacked permit

Location: Sitka
Type: Permit violation
On 8/5/12 Cody Loomis, 32, of Sitka, was issued a summons to appear in Sitka District Court for failing to have a Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission permit while commercial longlining. An investigation by the Sitka Wildlife Troopers showed that on 5/17/12, Loomis, captain of the F/V Dorothy Ann, attempted to land a catch of halibut without a CFEC permit.

Skipper accused of illegal lingcod take at Yakutat

Location: Yakutat, Icy Bay Subdistrict
Type: Take lingcod in closed waters
On 4/20/12 Alaska Wildlife Troopers issued a summons to James Bergquist, 45, of Snohomish, Wash., for taking and retaining lingcod in closed waters in the Icy Bay Subdistrict on or about 9/7/11. Bergquist was operating the F/V Memories as skipper and permit holder. He was issued a mandatory court date of 5/17/12 in Yakutat District Court.

Knapp was given a mandatory court date of 5/17/12 in Yakutat District Court.

On 3/8/12 Alaska Wildlife Troopers from Yakutat issued a summons to Marvin Gjerde, 63, of Snohomish, Wash., for taking and retaining lingcod in the closed waters of the Gulf of Alaska near Yakutat on 8/26/11 aboard the F/V Tordenskjold. Gjerde is due to be arraigned on 4/12/12 in Yakutat District Court.

On 12/20/11 Jamin Jones, 39, of Big Lake, was cited by Dutch Harbor Wildlife Troopers for failing to obtain a commercial crewmember license prior to acting as a crewmember aboard the F/V US Liberator. Bail set at $260 for Unalaska District Court.
