Assault reported on vessel at Petersburg

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Petersburg
Type: Assault
On 7/23/14 at 0805 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of an assault aboard the F/V Favorite. Investigation revealed the 28-year-old captain assaulted a 31-year-old crewmember by grabbing him around the throat with his hands. The crewmember has disembarked the vessel and the investigation is still ongoing.

  1. The dumb ass probably deserved it. Not talking about this case but what is a captain to do when a crew member falls asleep at the wheel possibly costing the captain his boat and life.

    1. So you have no idea what happened or why, but you feel the need to post he probably deserved it?!?

  2. I did not read where he fell asleep, perhaps you have first hand info cap. Best thing is to have a wheel watch alarm hooked into the boats alarm system, if he does not punch button every 5 or 10 minutes everyone wakes up

  3. Clearly assaulting a crew member is not the best way to run a boat, period.

  4. Captain's a drunken idiot. Hope he grows up some day.
