Feds: Oregon man lied about sablefish catch
Federal authorities have charged a 46-year-old Oregon man, Freddie Joe Hankins, with misreporting where he caught about 6,000 pounds of sablefish in 2006.
The vessel involved was the longliner Kamilar.
That's the boat named in a similar case brought against Arne Fuglvog, a former aide to Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski. Fuglvog is awaiting sentencing, and is expected to draw prison time.
Here is the criminal complaint against Hankins, and here is a very interesting affidavit by a NOAA Fisheries special agent.

You forgot to mention that the Kamilar is under new ownership. Its shitty of this internet tabloid to post a pic of this vessel, as if the current crew and captain had anything to do with it. THEY DID NOT! Why don't you post a pic of the people who broke the laws? Not the vessel they ALLEGEDLY did it with!
ReplyDeleteIt will be interesting to see if he draws a similar penalty as Fuglvog did.
ReplyDeletePeople certainly have a right to see the equipment used in a crime. Sure it's bad press for the new owners, tough luck.
ReplyDeleteTo put a picture of the vessel on the internet serves what purpose? Lets see a picture of the charged person who ran the boat not some object that has nothing to do with the problem
ReplyDeleteBad form from the deckboss for posting a picture of a boat. the boat is not sentient (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/sentient)like the person who is charged with the violation. And now after this the deckboss falls in the same category as the boat http://www.wordreference.com/thesaurus/nonsentient
ReplyDeleteThe boat serves a purpose as it shows the amount of money that is being stolen from the common interest by the pirates. If you buy a boat from a crook expect people to notice the vessel everywhere it goes.
ReplyDeleteNew owner? It's Arne's ex-wife, who got the boat in the divorce. She co-owned it during the years he committed fishing violations.
ReplyDeleteTheres a lot of boats out there that did the same thing, and yes the new owner is ARNES WIFE!!
ReplyDeletePS NICE PITURE
Death by a thousand cuts:

Fred had his first boat siezed for misreporting.
ReplyDeleteIf the feds are looking for Fred ...he is moored in Kodiak small boat harbor now. HURRY.
ReplyDeleteIt was his brother running the boat jackass
DeleteWrong again chucklefucks, It was my twin brother. And I can't say I take kindly towards threats to my old man, regardless of what he did, so cool it.

Love that PSVOA, connecting the usual and Arne the best, P.O. Box 131, from Petersburg Packing Company, hows that Petersburg Queen at ADF&G???
Cindy Fuglvog, previous and present owner, is a PIRATE, as guilty as Arne and Fred. Cindy Fuglvog cooked the books on the beach, why'll Arne Fuglvog, and Fred Hankins, were cooking the log books on the boat. The PIRATE boat
ReplyDelete"Kamilar", aka, "The Blue Pearl", will forever be known as the PIRATE longliner from Petersburg. These people "do not give a damn what the regulations or laws say". Cindy Fuglvog, is guilty of tax evasion and theft. Cindy Fuglvog has never done any bookkeeping that did not screw someone, to benefit herself.
The "Black widow", of the "Blue pearl".
Your time is coming Cindy, the gig is up! Your a pile of dung just like Arne!
ReplyDeleteWow, I just read these comments. People I dont know have told me there have been some nasty comments about me. If you had any "BALLS" Anonymous youd state your name. Tell us who you are and lets see what the world has to say about your character. I guess there is a reason people remain anonymous. For the record: any bookkeeping that I have done has had documentation (fish tickets bills etc). Im a little strict that way so bring it on! Oh, and I didnt get the boat in the divorce. I bought it when Arne wanted to sell out in order to hold together a legacy, and to keep the crew together. I owe, I owe NOAA.
