Fishing vessel seized at Bristol Bay

Type: Vessel seizure
On 7/22/16 Alaska Wildlife Troopers in Bristol Bay located the commercial fishing vessel Sokol with a net deployed over 4 miles from legal fishing waters, up the Kvichak River. Pursuant to a search and seizure warrant, the vessel was seized and pulled out of the water. The operator of the vessel was identified as David F. Martushev, 22, of Homer. Investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.

Man stabbed with fillet knife at Kvichak setnet site

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Kvichak River near Naknek
Type: Domestic violence assault
On 7/8/12 at approximately 0740 hours, the Alaska State Troopers in King Salmon learned of a stabbing that had occurred at a setnet site approximately nine miles up the Kvichak River from Naknek. Troopers responded to the setnet cabin. Investigation revealed that Mary Anelon, 49, of Newhalen, had stabbed a man in the thigh with a fillet knife. The victim was in stable condition. Anelon was arrested for domestic violence assault and transported to the King Salmon jail for arraignment. Alcohol was a factor in the assault.
