From the local police blotter:
Assistance rendered, Aug. 5 — Caller reported being attacked by swooping eagles. She was afraid to move for fear of injury. Officers responded to assist. As the officers arrived, the sun set. The eagles seemed to lose interest in the caller once it was dark. She was able to continue walking down the hill unmolested by her feathered attackers.
Roads, Aug. 13 — Officer noticed crab pots precariously perched above the roadway. The pots were moved by the owner.
Suspicious activity, Aug. 14 — A taxi driver brought a fare to the Department of Public Safety because he was trying to solicit sex from her. Christian Berry, 25, was arrested for soliciting prostitution.
Assistance rendered, Aug. 20 — Caller reported that a boat had burned. The M/V Rebecca, which was tied up to an old barge at the head of Captains Bay, had burned to the waterline. Investigation continues.
Assistance rendered, Aug. 20 — Caller wanted officers to check his company housing for "unauthorized partying." Officers responded and did not find anyone partying, authorized or otherwise.
