From the local police blotter:
Suspicious person, Aug. 20 — Officers responded to faint cries for help at the Carl E. Moses dock. Upon arrival, officers observed an individual in the water, under the dock, sitting on a float. Officers were able to extricate the subject who was later determined to be inebriated. The subject said he wanted to go for a swim, jumped in and somehow ended up under the dock. Ambulance responded and subject signed a refusal form.
Protective custody, Aug. 22 — Harbor officer reported a man sitting outside of Public Safety who stated he wanted to kill someone. Officers contacted the subject who repeated that he wanted to kill somebody. Subject was detained and subsequently transported to Anchorage for mental evaluation.

So let me get this straight - if I want a free plane ticket to Anchorage from Dutch Harbor, all I have to do is stand outside the cop shop and say I want to kill someone? What a deal!
