From the local police blotter:
Drunk disturbance, July 24 — Officers contacted several men regarding an altercation at the Galaxy dock. One of those contacted was found to be in violation of his probation conditions; information passed on to his probation officer.
Assist other agency, July 25 — Police and harbor officers contacted the captain of a sailboat which had run aground near the East Channel. The captain, who spoke no English, displayed no signs of intoxication.
Theft, July 25 — A woman reported the theft of $200 from her room in a Westward Seafoods bunkhouse. The victim also told officers she had lost her labeled room key several weeks earlier, and had not to this date requested a new lock. No suspects were identified.
Assistance rendered, July 29, 0317 hours — Request to have some sodium lights, which were interfering with drivers' ability to see, turned off at a local dock. A harbor officer was able to remedy the situation.
Assistance rendered, July 31, 0210 hours — Officer found an intoxicated man vainly attempting to climb into a Dumpster. When confronted, the inebriate told the officer he was simply going to his room. The officer, who knew the man lived in a nearby bunkhouse and not a Dumpster, assisted the man to his residence.
