From the Alaska State Troopers:
Location: Craig
Type: Burglary, criminal mischief
On 3/2/11 at approximately 0830 hours Klawock AST responded to the Prince of Wales Hatchery on Port Saint Nicholas Road. Investigation revealed that sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 8 a.m. someone entered the building and turned several water valves off, depriving the king salmon fry of fresh water. This caused the oxygen levels in the water to fall to fatal levels. It is estimated that 98 to 99 percent of the salmon fry died. If anyone has any information concerning this crime please contact the Alaska State Troopers. The investigation continues.
