Sitka man charged with exceeding 12-king limit

Location: Sitka
Type: King salmon overlimit
On 9/5/24 Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited Gary McMaster, 74, of Sitka, after he landed 14 king salmon at a local processor when a total of 12 were allowed for Sept. 1-10, during the commercial troll limited harvest season for king salmon. Arraignment was set in Sitka District Court. Two king salmon were donated to a local charity.

Juneau sablefish harvester cited

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Juneau
Type: Sablefish overlimit
On 2/5/15 John C. Phillips, 56, of Juneau, was cited for retaining an excessive overage of commercially taken sablefish. Phillips retained 1,228 pounds (12 percent) over the quota set by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. Arraignment set for 2/24/15 in Petersburg District Court.

PWS shrimper had too much gear, troopers say

On 4/15/14 Larry Gilman, 53, of Whittier, was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Anchorage Post, for commercial fishing for Prince William Sound shrimp while in possession of an overlimit of pot gear. Arraignment set in Anchorage District Court.

More charges filed in geoduck fishery

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Craig
Type: Overlimit of geoduck clams, falsify fish ticket
On 3/15/13 Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Klawock Post, cited Marc Reynolds, 55, of Kingston, Wash., for harvesting an overlimit of geoduck clams on 11/1/12. Reynolds was further charged for falsifying an Alaska Department of Fish and Game fish ticket related to that overage. Arraignment set for 3/29/13 in Craig District Court.

Type: Use of dive gear during commercial geoduck closure
On 3/15/13 Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Klawock Post, cited Marc Reynolds, 55, of Kingston, Wash., on two counts of unlawful use of dive gear. Reynolds was observed in the water with dive gear during a closed period on two separate occasions. Arraignment set for 3/29/13 in Craig District Court.

On 3/12/13 Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Klawock Post, cited Forest Collins, 39, of Craig, for retaining more than the maximum limit of geoduck clams for a commercial fishing period set out by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. Arraignment set for 3/22/13 in Craig District Court.

On 3/12/13 Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Klawock Post, cited Colin Darrah, 50, of Seattle, for retaining more than the maximum limit of geoduck clams for a commercial fishing period set out by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. Arraignment set for 4/11/13 in Craig District Court.

A mandatory court appearance was scheduled for 11/30/12 in Ketchikan District Court.

Geoduck fisherman charged with two violations

Type: Overlimit of geoducks
On 4/19/12 Jesse Hoyt, 36, of Ketchikan, was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Ketchikan Post, for harvesting and retaining more than the maximum limit of geoducks for a commercial geoduck fishing period. Hoyt was assigned a mandatory court date of 5/1/12 in Ketchikan District Court.

Type: Employee unlicensed crewmember
On 4/26/12 Jesse Hoyt, 36, of Ketchikan, was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Ketchikan Post, for employing an unlicensed crewmember while engaging as the permit holder in a commercial geoduck clam fishery. Hoyt was assigned an optional court date of 5/8/12 in Ketchikan District Court. Bail was set at $260.
