Type: Commercial fish closed waters
On 9/18/13 Robert Gould Jr., 31, of Anchorage, was cited by Dutch Harbor Wildlife Troopers for commercial fishing the closed waters within 500 yards of a salmon stream. Gould was found to be beach seining with a purse seine within 500 yards of Ness Creek in Canoe Bay off of the F/V Four Winds on 8/21/13. Arraignment set for 10/9/13 in Homer District Court.

Gillnetter charged with illegal fishing at Bear River

Location: Bear River, Alaska Peninsula, Area M
Type: Commercial fish closed waters
On 9/21/10 King Salmon Wildlife Troopers received information from Alaska Department of Fish and Game biologists in Port Moller that a commercial fishing violation had occurred on 9/1/10 near the mouth of the Bear River on the Alaska Peninsula. Investigation revealed that Paul A. Martushoff, 27, of Reardan, Wash., acting as skipper and permit holder aboard the F/V Orbit, commercial fished with a drift gillnet in closed waters near the mouth of the Bear River on 9/1/10. On 10/5/11 Martushoff was contacted by Alaska Wildlife Troopers at his residence in Washington via phone and interviewed. During the interview, Martushoff made statements that corroborated the ADF&G observations. Martushoff was issued a citation charging him with commercial fishing in closed waters with arraignment set for 11/15/11 in Valdez District Court.

Troopers spot seiner in closed waters near creek

Type: Commercial fish closed waters
On 9/14/11 King Salmon-based Alaska Wildlife Troopers served a summons to William J. Wiebe, 58, of Homer, for commercial fishing with salmon seine gear in closed waters within 500 yards of the mouth of Settlement Creek in Pavlof Bay. Wiebe was acting as skipper and permit holder aboard the F/V Namorada when the violation was observed by AWT on a fisheries patrol in a state aircraft on Aug. 16. Arraignment is set for 9/27/11 in Valdez District Court.

Troopers ticket King Cove cod fisherman

Location: Unimak Island
Type: No pot tag
On 4/5/10 Dutch Harbor Wildlife Troopers issued a summons to Herman Erik Samuelson, 51, of King Cove, for commercial cod fishing in March in the South Alaska Peninsula state waters fishery with a pot that did not have a buoy identification tag. Arraignment is scheduled for 4/27/10 in the Valdez Superior Court.
