Drugs, cash seized after search of Ketchikan boats

Type: Drug investigation
On 10/30/13, at approximately 1220 hours, search warrants were executed on two commercial fishing vessels located at the Bar Harbor docks in Ketchikan. Authorities seized approximately 2 pounds of marijuana, 11 illegal pills and $8,800 in cash. Charges against three adults from Washington will be forwarded to the Ketchikan District Attorney's Office for review.

Troopers seize heroin, meth bound for Cordova

On 6/21/12 investigators with the Alaska State Troopers, Western Alaska Alcohol and Narcotics Team, contacted 21-year-old Enrique Lino, of Las Cruces, N.M., at the Anchorage airport while he was waiting for his flight to Cordova. During the contact investigators informed Lino that he was being detained pending application for a search warrant. Lino attempted to run from investigators and then proceeded to resist officers as he was detained. AST applied for and was granted a warrant to search Lino and his baggage. Pursuant to the search warrant investigators seized approximately 2 ounces of black tar heroin and approximately 1.5 ounces of methamphetamines, which were destined for Cordova. The heroin has a street value in Anchorage of approximately $29,000. The methamphetamine has a street value in Anchorage of approximately $10,000. The value of both would be slightly more in Cordova. Lino was transported to the Anchorage jail where his bail was set at $50,000 cash plus a court-approved third party. Investigation continues.

Undercover drug probe nets four in Petersburg

On 8/26/10 at approximately 1723 hours, the Alaska State Troopers Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs (SEACAD) Task Force, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, U.S. Forest Service, Petersburg Police Department, Ketchikan Police Department and SEACAD canine Justice executed three search warrants in Petersburg and arrested three subjects. These arrests are the result of a three-month undercover investigation in Petersburg by SEACAD into the sale and distribution of cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana and prescription drugs. Those arrested were Renee Lester, 27, of Petersburg; Tabetha Taylor, 19, of Petersburg; and Ryan Snidarich, 19, of Petersburg. A fourth suspect, Eric Walker, 36, of Anchorage, was arrested on 8/25/10 as he attempted to depart town at the Petersburg airport. During Walker's arrest, a small amount of cocaine was found in his possession which resulted in an additional charge. Additional subjects have been identified and the investigation is ongoing.
