Two charged in Egegik processing plant burglary

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Egegik
Type: Burglary
On 10/15/19 Alaska State Troopers received a report of a burglary at a fish-processing plant located in the village of Egegik. Trooper responded. Investigation revealed George Chernikoff, 42, and Timothy Olsen, 21, both of Egegik, burgled a bunkhouse and net locker storage facility. Chernikoff and Olsen caused approximately $1,100 in damage and stole items valued at approximately $200. Chernikoff and Olsen were subsequently arrested, transported and remanded into the King Salmon jail, without incident, on charges of burglary, criminal mischief, theft and criminal trespass.

Burglary reported at Trident Seafoods in Akutan

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Akutan
Type: Burglary, theft
On 6/20/15 the Akutan village public safety officer received a report of a theft from Trident Seafoods. Investigation revealed Allan Aguirre, 26, of Ontario, Calif., entered living quarters for Trident workers and stole property valued at over $250. Aguirre was arrested for burglary in the second degree and theft in the third degree and held at the Akutan holding facility pending arraignment.

Burglary reported at Alaska General Seafoods

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Egegik
Type: Burglary
On 1/8/14 Alaska State Troopers received a report of a burglary in the village of Egegik. Investigation revealed the Alaska General Seafoods cannery had been broken into sometime on the evening of 1/7/14. The suspect or suspects entered through a window in one of the main buildings. Once inside, two doors were damaged and an unknown amount of food was taken from a freezer. Investigation continues into the theft.

Note: Alaska General describes its Egegik facility as a "fish camp" providing housing and other services to the company's independent fishing fleet.

Burglary of Trident Seafoods housing unit reported

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Chignik Bay
Type: Burglary
On 5/12/10 at 1000 hours, Clyde Pedersen reported that a Trident Seafoods housing unit in Chignik Bay had been broken into. The Chignik Bay village public safety officer responded to the building to investigate. The VPSO found that two separate apartments inside the building had been broken into. At this time, it appears that nothing was taken. Investigation continues into both burglaries.

Two arrested in burglary at research institute

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Aleknagik Lake
Type: Burglary
On 10/03/09 at 0915 hours, the Alaska State Troopers in Dillingham received a report from Daniel Chythlook of Aleknagik Lake that the Fishery Research Institute campus in Aleknagik Lake had been burglarized. Investigation revealed that Alexie McCarr, 22, and Bernard McCarr, 27, both of Aleknagik Lake, used burglary tools to break into three campus dwellings causing $500 in damage to each dwelling. During the crime spree, the McCarrs gained access to the campus's office building. The estimated value of stolen items for the three dwellings and the office building was estimated to be over $50. The McCarr brothers were arrested and transported to the Dillingham correctional facility, where they were lodged pending their arraignments.

Burglary at Adak Fisheries reported

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Adak
Type: Burglary/theft
On 7-1-09, approximately 0830 hrs, Alaska State Troopers investigated the report of a burglary at the Adak Fisheries plant in Adak which occurred sometime during the preceding two days. A Dell desktop computer valued at $1,300 was stolen. AST investigation continues.

Burglar tees off on Coast Guard golf shop

Location: Kodiak
Type: Burglary
On 06-18-2009 at approximately 0131 hrs U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Military Police responded to an alarm at the Pro Shop for the USCG Integrated Support Command (ISC) Golf Course on Anton Larsen Road. Investigation determined a minimum amount of stock was taken. Several windows and display cases were broken. Two Harbor Crown calls

From the Unalaska Advertiser:

Found property, June 4 — Wallet, near Harbor Crown Seafoods.

Burglary, June 7 — Caller reported someone had just broken into an apartment at Harbor Crown Seafoods. The apartment resident told officers he was awakened in the night by loud banging at his door, and got up to find an intoxicated man wobbling in the middle of his living room. The inebriate initially refused to leave, but eventually fled the building and, as officers later learned, stole a pickup truck with which to depart the area.

Bristol Bay burglary reported

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Egegik
Type: Burglary and theft
On 6/3/09 at 2205 hours, AST Dillingham received a report of a burglary in Egegik. Kristina Fisher, age 34, of Eagle River, reported that her cabin and her father's cabin, at their family setnet fishing camp on the Egegik River, had been broken into sometime between July 2008 and June 2009. Several thousand dollars in fishing equipment, tools and food were stolen from inside the cabins. The incident is under investigation by AST.
