Sitka man accused of illegal Dungeness crabbing

Location: Sitka
Type: Commercial crab closed season
On 8/27/10 Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Sitka Post, cited Reginald I. Baggen, of Sitka, for commercial fishing during a closed season for Dungeness crab. More than 70 of Baggen's pots were located still fishing in the Peril Strait area 8/23/10. The season closed 8/15/10. Baggen was summoned to Sitka District Court for arraignment on 9/14/10.

Sitka Dungeness crabber cited for buoy violation

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Peril Strait
Type: Improper buoy marking
On 11/13/09 at approximately 1400 hours, Sitka Wildlife Troopers cited Reginald I. Baggen, age 31, of Sitka, for improperly marking Dungeness crab pot buoys. Investigation revealed Baggen was using buoys on his gear that were not identical as required by regulation. Arraignment is set for 12/1/09 in Sitka Court.
