From the Alaska State Troopers:
Location: Estus Point across from Hagemeister Island
Type: Search and rescue
On 5/5/13 at 0830 hours, a Togiak village public safety officer received a report that Roy Petersen, 31, Ryan Andrew, 29, and a 13-year-old were overdue from a hunting trip. Investigation revealed the three hunters left Togiak on the morning of 5/4/13 in a 16-foot Lund and were traveling down the coast from Togiak. One of the VPSOs was hunting in Matogak Bay and observed the hunters pass by. The wave conditions were becoming more concerning at that time. On 5/5/13 at 1700 hours, a VPSO and a chartered pilot in a Super Cub were deployed from Togiak. The hunters were located walking on the beach in the area of Estus Point. According to the adults, the waves were increasing and they beached the Lund, but they forgot to place the anchor outside of the boat. The tide came up and the Lund was overturned and carried out away from the beach. One of the adults attempted to swim out to retrieve the Lund, but was unsuccessful. An Icicle Seafoods helicopter was chartered and deployed from Togiak. All three hunters were rescued by the helicopter and brought to Togiak where they were determined to be in good condition.

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Type: Importing alcohol — trial results
On 2/24/10 a Nome jury found Timothy L. Moore, 40, of Elim, guilty of felony alcohol importation. The verdict stems from an incident that occurred on 8/24/09 when Moore, Martin Saccheus and Wayne Moses conspired to purchase and import 84 bottles of alcohol and 72 cans of beer to Elim. Pebble copter helps rescue plane crash survivors
From the Alaska State Troopers:
Location: Koliganek
Type: Aircraft crash, rescue
On 9/2/09, at approximately 1300 hours, a float plane piloted by Kirk Gay, age 65, of Anchorage, crash landed in the tundra approximately 6 miles northeast of the village of Koliganek. Gay and another fishing guide had flown two fishing clients into the area to fish on the Nushagak River from their lodge on Six Mile Lake. They were on their way back to the lodge when the aircraft's engine stalled and Gay made an emergency landing. No one was injured as a result of the crash, but the aircraft's floats were badly damaged. Using a satellite telephone, Gay was able to contact the Iliamna Air Taxi Service in Iliamna, who alerted authorities of the crash. AST Dillingham was eventually notified and an AWT aircraft and two troopers were dispatched to the scene. RCC Anchorage was also notified, along with the FAA and the NTSB. The Pebble Mine in Iliamna was contacted and they agreed to donate a helicopter from their operation to retrieve Gay and the three other members of his party. The four men were picked up by the helicopter approximately 1630 hours and they were returned the fishing lodge at 1800 hours.
