Dungeness crabber cited at Petersburg

Location: Petersburg
Type: Unlawful holding of crab
On 1/6/23 Alaska Wildlife Troopers investigated a report of Dungeness crab being held unlawfully aboard a commercial fishing vessel. Investigation revealed Maclane McGrath, 22, of Petersburg, was in possession of commercially caught Dungeness crab after the close of the fishing district. AWT issued McGrath a citation for 5AAC32.031(d)(3) Commercial Fishing Dungeness Crab Landing Requirements with a mandatory appearance in Petersburg District Court.

Bristol Bay fishermen cited on district violations

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Bristol Bay
Type: Possession of salmon outside district
On 7/7/14 Taran T. White, 31, of Bellingham, Wash., was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers for having salmon in his possession more than one mile from the commercial fishing district where they were caught. Arraignment was set for 7/16/14 in Naknek District Court.

Location: Bristol Bay
Type: Possession of salmon outside district
On 7/7/14 Steve C. Hyatt, 37, of Eureka, Calif., was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers for having salmon in his possession more than one mile from the commercial fishing district where they were caught. He also was cited for failing to report the salmon on his fish ticket. Arraignment was set for 7/16/14 in Naknek District Court.

Location: Bristol Bay
Type: Possession of salmon outside district
On 7/7/14 Andrew Y. Hillis, 25, of Turlock, Calif., was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers for having salmon in his possession more than one mile from the commercial fishing district where they were caught. He also was cited for failing to report the salmon on his fish ticket. Arraignment was set for 7/16/14 in Naknek District Court.

Type: Possession of salmon outside district
On 7/9/14 Jason Douglas, 33, of Sand Point, was cited by the Alaska Wildlife Troopers for having salmon in his possession more than one mile outside the district where they were caught. He also was cited for operating an unregistered powerboat. Arraignment was set for 7/16/14 in Naknek District Court.

Dungeness crabber in a pinch over late delivery

From the Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Juneau
Type: Dungeness landing requirements
On 1/20/13 Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Juneau Post, cited Charles S. Mason Jr., 42, of Juneau, for possessing and delivering commercial Dungeness crab more than 24 hours following the closure of the fishery on 11/30/12. Mason delivered Dungeness in Juneau on 12/8/12 without an extension authorization from the Department of Fish and Game to possess those crab more than 24 hours following the closure of the fishery. Arraignment set for 1/30/13 in Juneau District Court.
